Job Overview
Candidates should be fully qualified to teach mathematics from 11 to 18, including IGCSE and A-level. We are particularly interested in hearing from teachers who can deliver the curriculum with a practical focus, and who are committed to developing the independent learning and thinking skills of our students.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A degree in Mathematics or a relevant degree.
- A PGCE or equivalent UK teaching qualification.
- C2/Mother tongue level of English.
- Secure subject knowledge to teach Mathematics across the secondary age range, including IGCSE and A-Level.
- An ability to challenge all students to achieve excellent progress, in accordance with their needs.
SUBJECT TEACHER REPSONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the planning, preparing and delivering of departmental schemes of work in accordance with the National Curriculum and with students’ needs.
- Create an effective and stimulating learning environment.
- Mark, test, assess and record in accordance with school and department policy.
- Use progress date to inform subject planning.
- Contribute to students’ end of term reports in line with school policy.
- Enforce school rules in class and at all times around the school.
- Liaise with the Head of Secondary or Safeguarding officers, as appropriate, regarding any concerns about individual students.
- Undertake all other reasonable duties, including break and lunchtime supervision, as requested by the Head of Secondary or Head Teacher.
